Watch AI Execute Hormozi's Pre-Sale Framework in Real Time

Ruben Davoli · · 8 min read

I built an AI voice agent that runs Alex Hormozi's exact appointment-setting framework. Then I put it on a live call and watched what it got right, and wrong.

Three parts: the framework, the call dissected, and the operator lessons on when this actually makes sense.

The framework

Hormozi's principle is that the sale begins at the click. The moment someone taps your ad, selling has started. Everything between that click and the actual sales call is the pre-sale, the appointment-setting phase, and it directly moves the close rate of the call that follows.

It runs on BANT: budget, authority, need, timing. The setter qualifies across those four. And his sharpest point: the script has to be followed word for word, or you don't really have a script.

That last part is exactly where human teams struggle. Training a team to say the script word for word, every call, is brutally hard. That's the gap the agent fills.

The call, dissected

I ran it as a founder-fitness company qualifying a lead who opted in for a "performance audit." Six things it did, and you should copy:

  1. AI disclosure, right after the hook. Required in most countries, and it actually lowers the barrier. People relax when you're upfront. No deception needed.
  2. Clean BANT order. It qualified on need, authority, timing, and budget in a natural sequence.
  3. Price range before booking. Most setters skip this because they're scared to ask. Naming the range ("mid four figures, is that feasible if it made sense?") saves your closer's calendar from tire-kickers.
  4. Edified the closer. It positioned "Daniel, our senior advisor" so the prospect walks in with authority already established.
  5. Binary time slots. Morning or afternoon, 3pm or 5pm. Decision between two options, not an open calendar.
  6. Confirmed attendance. "Any reason you might not make it, or are you there 100%?" A small line that cuts no-shows.

The honest part

This was a demo, and demos run at roughly half the quality of production because of the shared environment. On this call it slipped twice: it didn't edify the closer until I asked who Daniel was, and it briefly confirmed the wrong time slot before correcting itself. In production, linked to the real CRM and calendar, those errors are minimal, and getting smaller with every voice-model upgrade.

Where this makes sense

The takeaway isn't that AI beats your elite reps. It doesn't. It beats the inconsistency of the ones who aren't elite.

If you already contact every lead within 60 seconds, your reps are disciplined, and they follow the script word for word, you don't need this. It's just confirmation you're doing a great job. But most businesses, even ones with great lead flow, are leaking revenue because appointment setting isn't accurate or consistent. If that's you, that's exactly where an agent earns its keep.
